In the UK, Nurses are regulated by the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). At least once per month, Altrix is required to check each of its Nurses’ professional registration with the NMC, to ensure that they are able to work in their profession.

Prior to engaging Venturiq, Altrix would comply with this requirement by spending approximately 100 hours per month manually checking the NMC’s website and saving the evidence to their platform. When they approached us at Venturiq, we partnered with Blue Prism, an industry leader in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), to automate and optimize the process.

Since launching the RPA, which operates through the night 24/7/365, Altrix has achieved the following:

•  Increased the frequency of the checks from once per month, to twice per week.
  This goes above and beyond Altrix’s regulatory requirement, demonstrating Altrix’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the patients that our HCPs care for, thus improving relations with our HCPs, our clients, and the regulators.
•  An annual saving of 0.7 FTE (full-time equivalent)
  1200 hours per year of manual effort saved (equates to 0.7 of a FTE).
• Reduced risk of human error
  Full confidence that all necessary checks will be completed and that the evidence will be stored correctly.
• Reduced the risk of a HCP being allowed to work whilst under suspension or without a valid professional registration.
  Full confidence that any exceptions are immediately flagged to the clinical governance team for review and action.
